The immersion testing system is used to test rolled materials during production. It detects laminations, cavities and micro-inclusions. The required high detection sensitivities necessitate the use of vertical probes with frequencies of up to 20 MHz. This means that particularly high demands are made on the positioning accuracy of the probe while requiring high traversing speeds for scanning the rolled materials.
